- WHAT IS BOBBY'S FIRST LETTERS?
-
- BOBBY'S FIRST LETTERS is designed to help children learn their letter sounds.
- The program has three modes of operation. In the first mode, the user
- selects a letter, and the program will display a word which starts with that
- letter (text and a picture), and tell the user what sound that letter makes.
- In the second mode, the program will display a picture and ask the operator
- what letter the word represented in the picture starts with. In the third
- mode the program will display three pictures and one letter and will ask the
- operator which word begins with the displayed letter.

- WHAT DOES BOBBY'S FIRST LETTERS REQUIRE?

- BOBBY'S FIRST LETTERS requires MS Windows 3.0 or greater running on a
- 386 or greater computer with a Windows compatible soundcard.

- HOW TO SET UP BOBBY'S FIRST LETTERS

- All BOBBY'S FIRST LETTERS files should be placed in a new directory
- (c:\1st-ltrs). The setup.bat program should be run to set up the
- required subdirectories. A new Windows program item should be created
- using the FILE: NEW command of the Windows program manager. The
- command line for the new item should be c:\1st-ltrs\1st-ltrs.exe
- and the working directory should be c:\1st-ltrs.

- BOBBY'S FIRST LETTERS IS FREEWARE

- The user of this program is granted a license to use this program
- free of charge. The user may also freely distribute this program as long
- as no fee is charged, and all associated files are included. The author
- reserves all other rights, including the right to release future versions
- of this program as shareware or shelfware.

- CAN I ADD NEW WORDS?

- Sure. If you want to add the word banana, just place a 160 x 120 bitmat
- picture of a banana and a .wav file of the word "banana" in the c:\1st-ltrs\b\
- directory and name them banana.bmp and banana.wav and the program should be
- able to find them. There is a limit to two words for each letter. This
- limitation in intended to make it easy for the author to improve upon this
- program should he ever decide to release future versions for profit.
